Spring has sprung

Fall falls today

And this November election; will make winter colder than usual.

Well, maybe on Election Day in Sarah PalinÕs Alaska, winterÕs early polar blasts will be felt, but usually in the lower 48, these extreme frigid conditions will hold off until toward the end of November. In the Pacific Northwest Thanksgiving often features the weather of icky. Of course we are not talking about the weather however, but the polar extremes of the two worldviews that have become visible because of the stark barren frosty political landscape they have created in between their antagonists.

When you think of it in the proper context, these artic political blasts took on a previously unseen fury when Sarah Palin and TEA Party favorite, Christine OÕDonnell became the DelawareÕs Republican Party candidate for the U.S. Senate. Sarah now also has to share the polar platform with someone without any respectable credentials, other than being just a very average conservative American, who for some strange reason wants to be a Senator.

If you listen to the Republican pundits, the spin from Karl Rove, Dick Morris, Ann Coulter and others, is that the divide with the Democrats is small government contrasted with big government. The Democrats counter it is really big government saving us from destruction at the hands of the Capitalist Fat Cats.

There is some discussion of the people being upset with the totality of the Federal Government, that includes both incumbent Republicans and Democrats, as we mentioned last week, the MICE (Make It Complex Einstein) and MICE Lite, just donÕt seem to get the frustration of the American people generally, and the TEA Party specifically. ÒThrow out all the bums,Ó doesnÕt seem to register in the elite of both sides of the political class.

LetÕs see if we can Keep It Simple Stupid so that we can add some context to what is happening, so that the American people can begin to see that they really are part of something grand that probably hasnÕt happened in America and perhaps the world since the eighteenth century, maybe since the sixteenth.

In the world of common and ordinary things, what we are seeing is a polarity of choices developing quite rapidly. Next MondayÕs Cult Football post will deal with the polarity between the Religion of Man and the Religion for Man. This essentially transfers into natural law and common grace by polar opposites of collectivism contrasted with individualism. These become common — ordinary choices people make each day.

While we would all like to find a common ground what really is at stake here is irreconcilable philosophies or worldviews. Both cannot be absolutely true hence one will be ascendant forcing the other to become descendant. The two worldviews basically could be called the Ordinary Knowable contrasted with External Inspiration.

The Ordinary Knowable is based upon the belief that evolution is the highest form of intellectual knowledge. Man being the highest thinking animal, evolved to this rightful position over millions of years, in a universe some fifteen billion years old. For the most part this is rather a mundane theory to describe a very boring history, except for some quantum leaps of evolving complexity, to overcome the natural laws of thermodynamics, and especially entropy.

Where this becomes a viable worldview however, is where these eons of time are compressed and applied to essentially recorded human history. What that means is the more highly advanced humans, according to the advanced humanÕs definition of advanced, are more highly evolved and hence have the evolutionary right, to in some way, control those humans less highly evolved, using a similar logic to manÕs dominion over the natural. While that truly isnÕt logic but circular reasoning, where it becomes important is within its imperative application, which is not based upon any true empirical evidence, but rather where the metaphysics prescribe the appropriate physics.

External Inspiration allows for the compression of time because there is some sort of intellectual input from outside the truly natural universe. This input can come from a personal God creating mankind in his image thousands of years ago, as in the case of Biblically consistent creationism. It could also come from some external force or karma in some means, totally inconsistent with a totally natural and definable universe. From an evolutionary point of view this worldview requires a leap of faith well beyond what is required for evolution to have occurred, but logically it does provide a philosophical or even a personal source for increasing natural complexity, which quantum leaps of evolutionary complexity do not.

When we attempt to create a worldview consistent with each underlying metaphysics, we find that evolution and especially Social Darwinism, needs a community from which the elite can continue to evolve, leaving the more primitive behind, for the primitive, stupid, racists, are the only measuring stick available to this form of narcissism. Furthermore true natural selection needs a genetic pool of mutations from which these evolutionary advancements can take place. In reality Social Darwinism is a very limited form of egotism, in which someone fitting within the natural distribution of human intelligence, can by essentially personal desire and limited effort, evolve into a human that should not only be emulated but also revered.

External Inspiration however, comes with a built in yardstick, much more advanced than an evolving measuring stick, because the yardstick has absolute markings and not an arbitrary and moving scale, by which all criteria must be measured to have any true natural meaning or relevance. That external intelligence however does not need a village, or even a tribe to evolve. With External Inspiration people can procreate as they decide is physically and intellectually prudent, creating a family, tribe, nation, or fully populate the earth, by doing nothing more than what comes naturally.

Well we have wandered far too near to MICE territory to have any more constructive insights. In the November election the choices are there to be made. This is especially true in the Senate election in Delaware. On the one side you have the aforementioned Christine OÕDonnell, who seems to be such an unconventional conservative, that she has become totally unsuccessful, in becoming a prosperous member of the Republican Party Social Darwinist structure. To which Christine would probably comment, ÒAmen, brother!Ó

She is opposed in this election bid by Chris Coons, New Castle County executive, who has begun to get some national attention for an article he wrote in 1985 entitled ÒChris Coons: The Making of a Bearded Marxist.Ó However, by far and away his most interesting handle is, ÒSenator Harry ReidÕs pet.Ó

So this senate race is becoming one that truly contrasts polar opposite worldviews. While the latest political polls has Coons with a double digit lead, no matter the final result, this illustration shows a political contrast not seen in major party politics for a very, very long time.

Scott Rasmussen and Douglas Schoen have recently released a book: ÒMad as Hell: How the TEA Party Movement is Fundamentally Remaking our Two-Party System.Ó A three part Op-Ed excerpt has appeared in the Washington Times: One nation under revoltEvolution of the TEA Party movementThe last hope for the Democrats and Republicans to regain trust.

After reading the excerpts, I probably will not be buying and reading the book. My take of these excerpts is that the authors believe AmericaÕs future hope rests with the Democrats and Republicans somehow finding the ability to acknowledge the desires of the American People and the TEA Party, and then make the substantial changes necessary to the Federal Government to keep the ship of state from sinking. Then finally, let the American people vote on those changes to codify them into law.

Seems to me the book, prescribes MOS (more of same) MICE. This continues federal progressivism including progressive lite, in which our Constitutional United States Republic becomes more ÒdemocraticÓ in a pejorative sense. In KISS terms, the problem is the pejorative democracy, produces MICE, not men and women who have the skill set and the temperament to be true leaders. Because of evolving American progressivism in our two party system, true leadership at the national level has been AWOL for so long, only new people from outside the MICE political class, endowed with the belief in External Inspiration, will possess these leadership talents.

Now the TEA Party is not by design a national political organization, because the Declaration of Independence referral to NatureÕs God is behind the whole movement. Ignoring that reality only prolongs the problems associated with our common — ordinary choices.

Keeping the discussion in that common choice area, the major problem with the TEA Party, as it is creatively developing (not evolving), is the focus on president Obama being the cause of the problem and if we donÕt fix it quickly, his communist lackeys will destroy the country. For his problem part, the president continues to blame George W. Bush and the Republican leadership.

The real problem however, is that to find true American leadership at the national level you have to go back at least to Ronald Reagan, and I am not too sure about him. Actually when you look at American success in totality, especially in the twentieth and twenty-first century, what is totally apparent is the Invisible Hand of Adam Smith has been our guide.

That level handed concept, is the polarizing choice that faces the nation: The Visible Hand of Government and Corporate central planning; or the polar opposite of the Invisible Hand of Individual Freedom and Liberty ordering human chaos into wealth and prosperity. That Invisible Hand is really the Divine Providence that brought that nation into existence, unique in the history of mankind. That Divine Providential care has never left this country, or for that matter the rest of the world. Yet in our sinful arrogance we continue to degrade into MICE, rather than developing as men and women with a destiny.

The bottom will not be reached until we are sick and tired of being sick and tired. That change of heart has birthed the TEA Party, by the grace of God alone. In the process it will change Christianity from a religion into a faith that recognizes the reality of our sin, and that any empowerment we possesses, comes to us solely as a gift of GodÕs grace. The unmerited gift of GodÕs grace changes nations, one person at a time.

Collective salvation is a heresy as old as humanity itself, now just freshly spun in the guise of social justice and redistribution of the gifts of God, to those who deny the source. It will not work now, it never has. This truth we shall learn individually and thereby find the means to eliminate the faux distinctions of the oppressor contrasted with the oppressed. Then to quote Dr. Martin Luther King, we shall truly be ÒFree at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.

That is a much different world than the one we have come to expect, much more harmonious than the polarization we now experience. What will happen however, is one worldview will become dominate and the other will retreat to the extreme fringes of the culture, where they will remain causing just enough chaos to keep the path free of debris. This is one of the most exciting times to be alive in human history, this artic polarization of the culture will pass, but for now it seems to be, to quote C.S. Lewis, ÒForever winter, but never Christmas.Ó

We are still making rapid progress in the attempt to buy a self-sustaining center near Spokane that is well beyond our financial means.
