The ObamaCare Wildfire

Late last evening the United States of America passed an ObamaCare reform law and simultaneously unleashed a wildfire in the country that will affect the country for years if not decades to come. A wildfire, many times human caused or even designed is an uncontrollable reordering of the future by destroying the past and creating opportunities for new growth to rapidly occur out of the ashes of the old. Many times human started controlled burns suddenly erupt into uncontrollable wildfires and greatly change an environment, well beyond the carefully laid plans of the fire planners. Welcome to healthcare reform circa 2010.

For over a year, off and on the healthcare debate has slowly intensified and generally revolves around both the cost and the constitutional question, if human governments can create rights, rather than being a gift of Natural Law given to humans by God. As of yesterday the debate was codified into law and started the wildfire which we will discuss briefly.

There are those who will continue to fight the hot spot battles related to human rights, the American federal government’s ability to create and to tax, and the continued desire to live beyond our means. Just as in a wildfire you will be able to tune to your favorite news channel, talk radio, or podcast and hear the yin and yang to support or defame your paradigms, but Washington DC this time next year will be a very different place than it is today. It will look like a wildfire passed through the capitol and there will be new shoots of growth beginning to sprout from the ashes, but still a lot of dead wood around, some of it standing some not. When you get out into the country those changes will begin to be seen also, but not the effects that the ObamaCare supporters had hoped.

Wildfires are frightening things, extremely rapidly they can change what has stood strong and relentless for centuries, and in a few minutes it is all gone. But if you look beyond the visual changes, what a wildfire does is fundamentally change the energetics of the ecosystem, including human ecosystems. You probably will only hear about the energetics of the ObamaCare wildfire here at Wonder Springs, so pass this to others.

Wildfires are only controlled when they run out of fuel and the winds and or dryness that feed their destruction are calmed and quenched. Keeping with our wildfire analogy the dryness is the entropy of party politics and the fuel is a whole world filled with excessive, essentially worthless money. The winds of change are blowing so strong that the wildfire will quickly jump the Atlantic and Pacific and destroy all efforts there to not only combat their regional wildfires, but add debt fuel to the flames.

In the summer of 2008 high winds started two wildfires near my place up here on the river. As a Godsend those winds brought down power lines and started fires about four and six miles downstream and downwind. This meant that as the wind continued to blow down trees locally and take out some of the remaining power lines, all that happened was the poles and the wire came down and nothing seriously happened to, or around my place. Down the highway however the two fires quickly merged and closed the road into town for over a day.

For my part I picked up a canvas lawn chair and a beer or two and moved to the middle of a clearing as far away from any falling trees that I could get and simply watched the wind blow. After a while I went and got my portable anemometer and sitting in my chair, with a hand raised I was able to measure sustained gusts of about 20 miles per hour about five feet off the ground. Higher up, the hundred foot trees swayed back and forth, perhaps ten feet or more, some broke, others were uprooted and fell over. Up there in the tree tops I could only guess that those gusts were in the 50 to 70 mile per hour range.

Just like with the ObamaCare debate the rushing wind lasted a couple of hours and then it was calm again. The fire burned intensely for another day or two, but mop up crews were around cleaning up hotspots for a week or more. Today you hear from the ObamaCare supporters that the fire is over and it is now time to begin to build on this new healthcare foundation. What is missing however is the only true tools that they have to build this new human government sponsored right, is a huge government bureaucracy and a financial entitlement that has made the current unsustainable debt — catastrophic.

Bigness to a certain size benefits from economies of scale, until such time as the environmental change accentuates the inflexibility to adapt to the new conditions and then the big tree, the big corporation, and the big government with its big government programs are eliminated from the gene pool.

It should be also noted that largeness does not of itself provide incentives for wealth creation, but it can only provide opportunities for productivity gains within the underlying information and energetic structure of the big. Once the informational and energetic growth reaches its maturity, all further size increases, only build bureaucracy rather than wealth. For example the currently saved too big to fail Wall Street investment houses, move around a lot of worthless money, much of it under the guise of minimizing risk, and in the process keep a significant cut for themselves, but in reality give back nothing of substance to the underlying so called wealth of information they say they are in business to serve.

The essential cause for the fall of communism in the Soviet Union, and perhaps an even better example Yugoslavia, was not the fundamental weakness of the ideology, it was that the ideology requires a totalitarian socialist or fascist state run by an elite group to keep the people in line. Without incentives to energetically create wealth through innovative energetics, failure was only a matter of time. As long as they could by hook or crook appropriate enough energy to make it function, it sort of hung on, until it became so corrupt that there was not enough energy that they could beg, borrow, or steal, to keep the scheme from collapsing and so both countries did fail.

In that respect the great Ronald Reagan is given the honor of ending the cold war, when in actuality his legacy was primarily the result of being in the right place at the right time, and the effect of his increases of American strategic defense deficit spending may have more to do with the current American demise than it contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union. Modern Russia has no history of true wealth creation and their happiness producing incentives and therefore remains grossly inefficient in pretty much every aspect of true human life. Something Vladimir Putin will probably tell you if asked nicely.

Glenn Beck is of the opinion that the Obama Administration with its progressives and communists in positions of power are attempting to use the Cloward and Piven strategy to collapse the American government and ergo install a fascist communist state to control the United States’ inalienable rights given to all humans by God. What Glenn is only beginning to understand, this is not really a human problem, but it is God’s problem and essentially Cloward, Piven and their followers, once their God designed usefulness is over, to be literally damned.

The collapsing of the system really isn’t that difficult, especially now that almost everyone everywhere agrees continuing the present will eventually allow bankruptcy to do it all by itself. This of course is not the point of view of the Administration, that the worst is over, and this ObamaCare scam really sets a different course. This truly shows that their worldview is so divorced from true reality, that after a year of dedicated effort they sort of got something on healthcare, that could not work in even the best of times.

All human systems die (or should die) too early because they fail to understand natural law. You don’t learn natural law in books, on TV, or in the city, nor do they teach it as such in what we still call the university. In fact we humans really can’t learn natural law in nature, the nature of natural law of the wild apprehends us there. The reason we retreat from natural law is that creation makes a mockery of our priggish intelligence, so we retreat to our vision of a shining city on a hill, there to recite religious mantras of human centered divine aspirations, which will never truly materialize.

A wildfire frees not only nutrients to help new plants grow, it also frees up liquidity to provide the mechanism of natural growth to do its thing. Too big to fail is not a natural mechanism of growth. About the only natural concept of too big to fail is cancer, which eventually must feed upon itself, bringing about death of the host. In a general rule cancer is not a communicable disease. There are environmental aspects that cause cancer, like the recent tarp and fiscal stimulus programs, but all they do cannot be passed on, especially if you remove the cancer affected tissue.

Once all the current worthless money is either used or burned up, real money will replace it. That money may take a different form than it now does, but humans will always trade this for that, and money in some form facilitates those transactions. When you build upon the ruins of the dead past, new wealth is created and money appreciates in value, and the people have more access to the pursuit of happiness. Wealth does not trickle down, but rather grows from the bottom up.

Nothing that has happened in the Obama Administration has done anything at all to bring about the fundamental shift from debt driven material consumerism into a new human ecosystem based on the American principles of our constitution and the miracle of the founding of the American Republic. The wildfire that passed the House of Representatives yesterday, moved us beyond some myth of change we can understand and believe in, into a burned over country where freedom and opportunity will soon begin to bud and new growth will occur.

It will take time, but who would have thought that the changes that have occurred in this country and the world over the last couple of years would again so change the environment, that the enviable day of reckoning just came and went. The wildfire went through Washington DC and throughout the land. Once the hot spots our quenched, new opportunities for real healthcare reform, a limited governmental safety net, and freedom will take root, released from the detritus of a century or more of social engineering of fallen man to control the uncontrollable freedom of liberty of self discovery and fulfillment.

Nothing sustainable comes from bureaucratic attempts to redistribute wealth, only a hotter wildfire once it starts. It is now time for the government at all levels to focus upon new growth of wealth and not the maintenance of the dead and dying and I am not talking at all about universal healthcare but rather freedom of access to energetic information and the liquidity to truly make things grow. Big grows from the small and with some degree of sound husbandry, that growth can be enhanced. How difficult is that to understand? In the historic context of the United States that was truly a hand up, rather than a handout. Government can only give handouts, only people can give others a hand up into a new and better way of life.
