...He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

...During that period the national defense portion will be reduced to 2 percent of GDP, through the dismantling of the military-industrial-Keynesian-complex.

...The current progressive income tax will be replaced with a standard flat tax rate on individuals and corporations of 20 percent, with the only exception and exemption for the poorest Americans.

...Social Security and Medicare withholdings from individuals will be maintained at current levels, but the cap of total contributions on a yearly basis will be removed. In pursuit of a sound dollar financial monetary policy, those funds will go into a true lock box concept, with no ability of the legislative and executive branches to use those funds; except as truly marketable and repayable investment bond securities.

...Within that program every individual will be responsible for the first $50,000 of the defined catastrophic illness or other healthcare event, except for what is currently defined as long-term care, where the maximum individual liability will be $100,000. ... Over time this national tax will be reduced as current Medicare and Medicaid are gradually phased out over a period of twenty-five years.

...We closed last week with a brief introduction of the now forgotten reality in which most of the economic growth of the twentieth century came about during times of high marginal tax rates, the highest being over 90 percent and was at 70 percent before the first Reagan tax cut.

...With the elimination of the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999 by Congress and the Clinton Administration, instead of providing greater marketing efficiencies we have seen in retailing, what has really happened is that we have developed a global financial oligarchy and that oligarchy has essentially used the ten percent rule to overcome any financial regulation at all.

...The Reagan Revolution cut those marginal tax rates, improved utilization of financial assets, somewhat decentralized what we would call “federal discretionary spending” in favor of the military industrial complex, fostered classical investments and in the process eliminated flight money, much of which was then collected in government taxes associated with the Laffer Curve.

...Those within the financial cartel determined the best way to grow that leverage was to alter the American Dream from owning your own business and building your own wealth, to owning your own home, and giving you a huge mortgage, which could be bundled, insured, and hedged to the point that everyone involved in the financial services cartel could get their fees and bonuses and pass the risk to the patsies in other areas of the world.

...The real problem however is when you really think about it with an opened mind, all the one percent country club has is a mountain of highly leveraged faux money and really very limited true transcendent wealth.

...So as radio commentator Paul Harvey used to say, “The rest of the story,” is if we want to get the one percent of the rich people to leave their fenced country club, surrounded by a moat of money, money everywhere and none of it fit to drink, we need to give them the opportunity to invest in a vineyard that produces the fine wine of economic opportunity, purpose, wealth and diverse security; and just like the field of dreams, they will come.

...At this time I am pretty sure it can make a contribution to current research and would rank, with a the possibility of making a significant contribution about two in three, and that world changing possibility at about one in three.

...If you do your assigned homework this week, as well as listen to at least some of the political noise, you will find that all four, especially if you try to link them together, barring a miracle are impossible in twenty-first century America.

...In essence what happens in this research team building is taking the narrowly focused professionals and providing them some cross training, but more importantly creating the ability to understand, in these research cases, the world outside their specialist box and how other team members might be able to contribute anything from ideas to the solutions to the problems at hand.

Back to our SAFER Process, we need expertise in analytical and process chemistry, biology and microbiology, competent engineers that can turn the process innovations into real functioning equipment, and business and marketing types who not only understand the market, but can provide the interface with the dominate financial limitations of our world, which really has no concept of fundamental research.

...Could it be that high marginal tax rates, at one time 91 percent in the USA, be the only proven way to create wealth, because it forces the creation of essentially flight money and all sorts of limited partnerships, startups, tax havens, and yes Ponzi schemes, fostered on people too specialized or lazy to do their do diligence?

...We have no jobs because startups and the wealth and innovation they create, such as our SAFER Process, cannot get funding, essentially because of the unintended consequences of the Laffer Curve, and unless some other financial innovation is created other than high marginal tax rates, or those tax rates are restored, it is a long fall off our current economic cliff.

...So as we go forward, we have somewhat of a political horse race, out of a dozen or so potential Republican candidates, with numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 still in the race, it comes down to numbers 5 and 6 really the choice that remains.

The real interesting statistic that I haven’t heard covered is that the proclaimed “conservatives” (Gingrich and Santorum) out distanced the “moderate” Romney better than two to one, 57 percent to 28 percent and that Romney has yet to get into the higher percentiles, except in New Hampshire, just up the street from his New England base.

Tomorrow evening of course the current president will give his State of the Union address to the American people, and most of the American people with cable television, a Netflix movie, or a Kindle or an iPod, may find something more productive to do with their time.

...Then on the very serious side we get to the economic and jobs information that should be the center of the American political debate, but is the last thing none of the dinosaurs, behemoths and troglodytes want to deal with.

...I believe that George Bush 41, Alan Greenspan and Bill Clinton were in favor of it, and that really were the roots of the fruit of our current mess, but its time to cut down that bush and plant some new seedlings for the twenty-first century.

...As far as Barack Obama, the liberal-progressive-left and the Democrat Party, it seems that they think there is no problem that more government spending will not cure, particularly if it originates within the federal government unitasker, an then forces the un-sovereign states to fund what the federal government doesn’t have the political will or the constitutional power to implement.

Furthermore, like all elitists of their persuasion, they believe that new wealth can be created, as do most Republicans, through tax incentives to crony capitalists, which through mergers and acquisitions, will provide the economic basis for the continuing growth of government programs, including entitlement programs and wealth redistribution.

...If you back up and try to put this into context of what is happening in the United States and the world today, what I think he is really saying is something like: Since the end of World War II, the western democracies, using federal government programs financed by deficit spending created the rise of the perceived wealth of their citizens, which increased significantly faster than the true wealth generated through gains in productivity and entrepreneurial new wealth creation.

...However if you look at this in the context of economist Joseph Schumpeter’s “creative destruction” this is just what is needed to recreate an economic world truly based upon the title of this week’s article: productivity, efficiency and decentralization.

...However in the current economic environment there seems to be more time for the less physical, which is enforced because of the limitations of our current economic reality; for there is no money in our liquidity river, just some distant debt lakes, that seem to be represented by bills to pay; arriving every month describing our contribution there to.

Some phosphorus in our river comes from human activity, a lot of it comes from natural sources, but just because we cannot control the amount of nitrogen, in our human enlightenment we make the decision that we want to control the phosphorus and keep the rivers and the lakes from turning green and potentially stinking from too much primary productivity.

European Downgrades — Productivity and Wealth

In last week’s article we played around with the normal gross domestic product (GDP) formula creating a modified alternative domestic product (MADP) that included provisions for the creation of new wealth, productivity, inflation and a risk premium. ...None of these calculations really relate to a real enterprise world where monetary policy, inflation, true wealth creation or any number of other factors operate essentially not so much by an invisible hand, but rather the unintended consequences of the world’s financial markets.

...What we need to do is to modify this formula so in some more credible way it takes into account the real world, its risks and rewards; for it is only in this way that we can in some way move from all financial transactions taking just and itsy-bitsy no risk cut of the action, into a world where we acknowledge true risk, rewards and new (real) wealth creation.

...Breaking them out separately, it is not hard to infer that the American jobs and prosperity problem is that the financing required to provide economic growth is hidden in twentieth century debt leverage and risk denial, where risk denial is not a river in Egypt, but oceanic lakes of excessive-debt-leveraged-fiat-money parked in financial centers around the world.

...In other words, and in another world other than the present, money should function as a medium of exchange and as such we can impute a temporal value, but that can and should be controlled not only by the amount but also by the velocity by which it changes hands.

The nature of the entrepreneur is that any money to fund the startup of the company must be real capital and not debt, especially because in the early stages of the entrepreneurial enterprise, that capital has a very limited velocity, if it has any velocity at all.

...If 70 percent of America’s domestic product came from entrepreneurs there would be no unemployment, there would be no inflation because of limited monetary velocity, government would provide government services instead of enterprise fringe benefits, and imports and exports would be balanced because entrepreneurial growth will be exported to the rest of the world.

Daily Light on the Daily Path — January 8, 2012

—I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

...There is no shortage of future seers at this time of year, I even read one that ignored all that future stuff and just gave his end of 2012 report, effective December 20, 2012, just before the Mayan end of the world.

...In our current economic world, there is really no tie to the natural world at all, at best you can make the argument that global commerce is based upon capitalism, but if you wander back much beyond Adam Smith’s, Wealth of Nations, and the simultaneous rise of representative governments, you are generally adventuring onto an economic flat earth of sovereigns and tyrants.

...The Age of Discovery worked so well because we were able to exploit, for less than true domestic market values, various areas of the world for their wealth, mostly natural resources, but to a limited and complementary extent, the area’s human assets.

...This is especially true if you followed that late twentieth century debt education model and have recently found out that your song has no market value in the world of global-crony capitalism.

...Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

...When God selected the nation of Israel to be the chosen people to bring about the natural environment for the coming messiah, God gave Moses these written laws, so that the people would be without excuse, when, not if, they decided to adopt their own profane religion.

...Let’s choose just ten items out of this profane universe in no particular order: evolution, the Euro, tax cuts are cause and effect for economic growth, tax hikes are cause and effect of economic growth, human actions will counter climate change, the elites should manage the proletariat, there are no limits to (economic) growth, money is our god, religion is just a primitive myth, mankind can create heaven on earth.

...The noise truly doesn’t want us to look at the mess the Profane Covenant has created, because if we drop out we will have to look at the reality of God as God.

...As of this writing, I personally don’t think any of those who are seeking this office, comprehend the true reality they think they can manage, because the God of both the biblical Abrahamic and Mosaic Covenants will not be hampered to do his will by the shallow precepts of our political systems.

As best as we can foretell, we are not faced with the true end of the world, for that rests totally within the scope of the Almighty, but rather we will be forced to cope with changes well beyond what we have become accustomed to want to believe.

Merry Christmas, December 25th - Amen and Amen!

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ...We do know that December twenty-fifth was chosen, not because it was near the winter solstice and the church scholars were too stupid to get the date right, but rather so that Jesus could be circumcised in the temple on our western’s secular culture’s New Years Day.

...The so-called war on Christmas has slowly been subject to much entropy in recent years, but the Happy Holiday’s just won’t go away, because when you get right down to it, our secular world is just as anti-Semitic as it is anti-Christian, it just depends which way the wind is blowing that particular moment.

...The churches’ graceless vain attempts at relevance allows for the reality of all the economic hype that this season produces: Black Friday, the day after the American Thanksgiving, Cyber Monday and there are also Super Sale Days until after the New Year, of course focusing on the weekend, when people have time to shop, instead of work in that boring, low paying service job, unless of course you work in retail.

...We began this week’s merry discourse with the reality that two sons of Aaron, the High Priest, brother of Moses, decided to take the religion of the Exodus into their own enlightened hands and found out they were not all that enlightened in their religion.

...This really doesn’t gain any cognizance at all in an advanced human religion where people evolved from some form of advanced primate eons ago, but in a young earth religious setting, as outlined in the Bible, it does make a lot of sense.

...That miracle of Jesus, (Jeshua, Joshua, God Rescues) was that God became man, lived a sinless live, was crucified on a cross for our justification, and was raised from death as the timeless hope that all of human law had become subject to the unmerited specific grace of God.

...What if, just if, our problems are too complex to be solved with what seemed to work so well during the twentieth century; well except for two world wars and numerous non-war police actions, mass genocide in more than a few places, and now a whole world drowning in a universe of unsustainable debt, best described as a “Debt Supercycle?”

...However since this itsy-bitsy piece of the pie was totally divorced from the action (without risk), it was this new world of finance, which we know all to well today; that forged the ultimate free lunch, and dinner, and breakfast, and the villa in the south of France, and the condo in Aspen, and the penthouse overlooking Central Park in New York City.

...Our point this week, is that what we today define as finance, as wonderful as is may seem, is totally divorced from the risks of the real world and life (with or without your iPod, iPad or iPhone) is just a century of a grand experiment in human enlightenment; the reality of physical entropy has overtaken it.

...To a certain extent the older generation, my generation, is still afraid of these machines, but as Bill Gates was founding Microsoft, I was carrying boxes of punched cards to the WSU computer center, which were then transferred to magnetic tape, which then could produce Neutron Activation Analysis elemental concentrations, in the middle of the night and with about two hours of computer time, on an IBM 370 mainframe, with 128k of RAM.

...Our problem today is not the desire for these jobs and really the fulfillment and the happiness we hope that they will bring, it is the reality we have no way to pay for them because of The entropy of finance — the entropy of jobs.

...In reality you really don’t need a physical frontier to be a pioneer, all you need is the understanding that risk and reward are related, and to succeed what is required is a mechanism of a new type of finance that is built upon the real natural world, that seems to be equity and what we call the possibility of agricultural returns.

...When you go to church, if you go to church at all, you realize that most of those people are also searching for answers, and the historic strength of this community has been altered by an over-stretched church building mortgage, a mortgage just like most of the people who wander through the doors for an hour or two each week.

...While we have been indoctrinated into the worldview that this is all there is and then you die, at our deepest transcendent level we understand that is not true; yet we have no frame of reference of where that vision quest should take us.

This essentially is the paganism of Native Americans, and even though the missionaries came and went, the Indians were never properly taught about the grace of God in the specific revelation of Jesus Christ, but were simply to be converted to a foreign religion, with just as limited understanding of the gospel of grace, not much different than what resided in the Indians natural paganism.

...When the church no longer believes in the biblical creation story and the truth of God’s common grace, religion has created a different Jesus, who is not the Bible’s prophetically foretold transcendent Redeemer, but rather it has created an invisible life coach to help us change with the evolving times.

...But what our modern evolved world fails to understand is that, no matter what road you choose to get to the present, that road simply runs from randomness to organized complexity, complexity way too interrelated for the individual or a community to fully grasp.

...As we touched upon last week our global banking system of finance, debt, and leverage based upon the “universal law of compound interest” is totally inadequate to deal with the risk premiums necessary to protect the real uncertainty involved in the process of essentially creating order out of some measure of chaos.

...The problem with the twentieth century is that we “evolved” in our thinking, simplifying that pioneer ecosystem, by not continuing along the path of complex diversity, but introducing “collective” simplicity to manage complexity, so that the individual became the servant, if not the serf of the Industrial Age, of first manufactured goods, but eventually manufactured everything, including food, services and human jobs.

...That history is slowly repeating itself a century later, except for the Third Opening of the West has yet to provide any economic opportunities, because there is no access to capital except, leverage capital based upon unrealistic industrial growth paradigms.

...Just like rural life lost out to urban growth during twentieth century industrialism, in the twenty-first century economic opportunities of rural areas will begin to create not only jobs but also true wealth based upon common sense principles of humanity and not just wishful thinking, financed by leveraged debt.

...Because of government supports of industrialized agriculture in this country, we have so altered natural equilibriums of markets around the world, that when, not if, we finally deal with the end of this portion of the global debt supercycle, we will be forced to close the free lunch counter.

...As these changes move forward, a new reality will begin to emerge in which the dinosaurs, behemoths and leviathans of the Industrial Age will not be able to adapt to these opportunities, because even though they have access to capital, their inherited size, simplistic thinking, and the inability to adapt to the unintended consequences of their actions, will not allow them to utilize the energetic new efficiencies of flexible developmental scales and the opportunities these innovative changes create.

...I’m sure the farmer thought he needed this tractor to make his work easier and hopefully more profitable, but the real reason he was able to buy this new tractor and his new farm toy, was that he was able to borrow the money using the equipment and the value of his land as collateral.

...As long as you can buy a super-sized double cheeseburger meal in some fast food restaurants for $5 and a gourmet version for under $10, fails to realize that “show me (all) the beef” in Brazil and Argentina is not going to keep the, subsidized cheap beef coming, if the American cattle industry can no longer sustain the current feedlot mentality.

...What this really means is that, we the people, are going to be the source of the solutions to the present and future problems, because the unintended consequences of the grand solutions, whether as grand as the future of the euro, or as mundane as keeping up the payments on an underwater suburban house, are too structurally complex for any form of centralized planning.

...However if we continue down the path of industrial agriculture, subsidized by government cronyism, Paris as well as urban areas around the world are going to see social unrest, that will make the “War to end all Wars” look relatively benign.

...Putting it all into a context that is totally boring to those from either the Right or Left coasts, as well as the universe of most politicians, financial managers and economists; because we didn’t listen to Powell, the Second Opening required the New Deal band-aid, which ultimately put American agriculture on life support.

...The future the United States is going to rely on, for the first time in our nation’s history, and for that matter the future of the world, developing a sustainable market driven, wealth producing, debt limited, entrepreneur driven food, dare I say, human agricultural ecosystem, within a world of limits of energy and most importantly water.

...Using the distributism’s cow, you need a market for your excess milk, a summer max precipitation of at least a tall grass prairie, (short grass requires at least 10 acres for grazing and access to external winter hay), a way to breed your cow, land to raise the calf, and means to have milk to use and sell while between subsistence calving periods.

...On the short grass, good soil of the Palouse, my dad’s mother’s family were successful enough to still have ancestors farming in the area, and the tombstones in the Reardan cemetery are of such size to show they were not subsistence farmers for very long.

...The interesting thing, in context of this article, is that if the Bannon homestead in the Okanogan Highland had been not 320 acres but 5120 acres, which would have by necessity included the bottom lands of the small Bannon Creek drainage, then reserved as Indian allotment ground, they could have made it as a cattle ranch, because it is within the size scope of similar ranches in the area today.

To close this week’s segment, what this shows is that for a century and a half, the American government’s development of our national lands, especially when we did not touch upon the land speculators responsible for building our transcontinental railroads, we see agricultural policies, up to the present time are dismal failures.

...In that enlightenment, when we look at the current gridlock at the national level, as not only the contrast between collectivism, where Wonder Springs defines those players as “collective elitists” and their antithesis the objectivist “laissez faire scoundrels;” we find the perfect storm, catch 22, or simple chaotic inertia, which will slowly develop competition and eventually leading to decentralization.

...These people have nothing better to do with their life, just because they look to the state to provide that life meaning, which is, in reality, only a natural understanding of their progressive elitist cultural training.

...In the proper context, Wall Street unregulated “free market laissez faire” has created essentially pestilent chaos on the streets, because we have attempted to create a financial world, where money and consumerism are the sole measures of success.

...It has been a number of years since I purchased the hard copy, but listening to the book gives an insight that it is not so much an endorsement of laissez faire capitalism, as defined through Alan Greenspan’s run at the Federal Reserve, but rather a treatise of nineteenth century liberalism; almost the exact opposite of our liberal definition of today; also quite different than what we would call conservatism.

...The good thing about the American political experiment, is that these slow changes, allow the flexibility of the process to muddle through, when more dramatic political processes may stress and potentially collapse into anarchy; and some sort of authoritarian rule from either the political left or right.

So your ability to adapt to these changes and understand where we are headed, will allow to you look for opportunities being created, as over time our world slowly increases competition, allowing for success of smaller more competitive enterprises and eventually the decentralization of governments at all levels.

October 9th - The Seventh Commandment: Thou shall not commit adultery.

What does the seventh commandment teach us?

...The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) model we have used, more and more commonly over the last generation, as we have moved from historic compound interest and leverage, into the world’s now crumbling financial situation, is to maintain it all through increasing debt, not by looking at the model itself.

Last week when we looked at Financial Fizzics and Fleeing Fear using the arithmetic formula for GDP, we see it is equal to the total contributions of Consumption (C) plus the contribution of Investments (I) adding in the role of Government (G) and either adding or subtracting the Net (N) difference between national Imports (I) and Exports (E).

...Now to put this into some sort of historical context, we used the quotation from Keynesian Robert Reich at the beginning to illustrate that in his worldview that Government can be the mechanism by which essentially an New-New Deal will get the economy back to creating jobs.

...Today this is really almost totally centralized in “too big to fail” financial institutions, government and the related corporate dinosaurs, leviathans, behemoths, who are the only ones who have access to the FED liquidity and then if they want it — to be able to continue to merge, acquire, and regulate unsustainable and cancerous positions within globally regulated markets.

...Going back to Austrian school economics, evolution, or natural law, your choice; we need some Creative Destruction within the United States and the rest of the global economy, so that we can create both the enterprises and the infrastructure for the future.

...Coming at it from the other end of the financial spectrum, it is like successful microloan programs in developing countries, only focusing on equity financing, not just to create a successful independent business entrepreneur, but rather to produce sustainable wealth and secure jobs, with early investments of $100,000, topping out at $1 million, with eventual EPA development investment limits of $10 million.

...In the context of this week’s description of the difference between fizzics and natural physics, I find a similar fizzics metis, but generally not as acute, in people from all urban backgrounds when it comes to dealing with what Thoreau would call “In Wildness is the Preservation of the World.” It is OK to take a trip out into the woods for the day, but it is done best if you sleep in the security of your own bed, drive to your wildness adventure, get in touch with all your natural metis fizzics needs, and make sure you are back in the city to have dinner with friends at folksy restaurants to discuss your adventure.

...That brings us to the current economic fear, that Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme, Medicare is unsustainable, ObamaCare is too expensive to be a viable option, the million dollars you began to put away for retirement has be inflated away and what remained, half was lost in 2008, more has disappeared in the Great Recession, and now the bear market is eating what little you have left.

...“The idea that we should put limits on growth because of some natural limit, is a profound error and one that, were it ever to prove influential, would have staggering social costs.”

Welcome to the developing reality of the unfolding of “staggering social costs,” which will only be exacerbated by the lack of understanding on the leaders who seem content to follow the path that, takes an unintended... fork and everything falls off a cliff, before our forward looking model discerns a path not previously traveled.

That solution, which we will look at in more detail next week, is to quit relying on the models of twentieth century prosperity, take off the sunglasses and travel to a place where on a clear day you might, just might, be able to see forever, and before you leave for that vision quest, you delete the trip itinerary from your cell phone.

September 25th - The Fifth Commandment

What does God require in the fifth commandment?
