...Even though Edwards was a church pastor, this first awakening was really the birth of what we today know as the revival service in which itinerant preachers travel from place to place preaching outside established churches, many times because the appeal to the local populace was so great that no church building could hold the crowd.

...The religious fever swept throughout the colonies, but from our perspective it is important to notice that revivalism had a tendency to bring in experts and excitements from out of town to enhance the Christian gospel message and provided an emphasis on making conversions to Christ, rather than more traditional catechesis and discipleship.

So what we see in the miracle time of the foundational formation of the United States is a tension between the specific revelations of God through the scriptures and a general revelation of God through creation or the wildness that accompanied living on a continent where the established norms of boxes of Europe and especially England, not only did not apply, but were counter productive to personal and community economic survival and growth.

...We have chosen six people, born within 150 present road miles of Boston, from 1782 - 1821, who brought out of box change not only to New England but also to the whole United States.

...There are many problems interpreting all of this today because to most historians all Christians are essentially the same and even if there is a recognized difference between Roman Catholics and Protestants, they surely are unable to differentiate between say a historic Presbyterian and a Finney Presbyterian.

...In our brief religious excursion this week we see seven people, six born within a hundred mile radius of some point in central Massachusetts that have a significant impact on the common and specific religious culture of the United States and the world today.

<itunes:author>Jerry Bannon</itunes:author><itunes:category text="Religion and Spirituality"/><itunes:keywords>Reformation, revivalism, Christianity, transendence</itunes:keywords><itunes:subtitle>The Wonder Springs Chroncile</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>This week we put some religious perspective into the miracle of the formation of the United States.</itunes:summary><itunes:image href="http://www.wondersprings.org/files/podcast_image_568.png" />

Week in Review – February 28 - March 6, 2010: Olympic hockey, healthcare, opportunity

It is true that most Americans are happy with their current coverage and don’t want it to change, simply because they get it for free or cheap with their job.

...We can’t buy our way out of that reality, especially when our debt is now seriously beginning to affect the future we still could have enjoyed with just a little discipline, financial and otherwise.

...Furthermore the boxes that are still available are way too expensive for most people to obtain, because there really is no wealth created in just shuffling the boxes from place to place.

...The problem with compromise is that it doesn’t provide the aggressive hostility required to get advertisers to buy box pushing ads, because drawing from our Olympic moment above, watching it on the tube you really can’t see the subtle nature of the compromise game.

One of the realities of life that is no longer understood, is if you find your identity outside culture, there is a much higher probability that you will be eliminated from the active gene pool.

...Most people are healthy enough that their insurance premiums pay for those who don’t have health insurance either through lifestyles choices or financial ability, Furthermore most people who have health insurance through their employer, don’t have a clue on how much their take home pay is reduced by the cost of their so called free insurance.

...In history we see that when people were forced out of their secure boxes by transcendent reality, real positive change took place quite rapidly, but not without making the past and the present an untenable problem.

Morning & Evening for March 7th - Charles Haddon Spurgeon

With faith I can do all things; without faith I shall neither have the inclination nor the power to do anything in the service of God. ... Little faith will go to heaven most certainly, but it often has to hide itself in a nut-shell, and it frequently loses all but its jewels. Little-faith says, "It is a rough road, beset with sharp thorns, and full of dangers; I am afraid to go;" but Great-faith remembers the promise, "Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; as thy days, so shall thy strength be:" and so she boldly ventures. Little-faith stands desponding, mingling her tears with the flood; but Great-faith sings, "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:" and she fords the stream at once. ... If you love darkness, and are satisfied to dwell in gloom and misery, then be content with little faith; but if you love the sunshine, and would sing songs of rejoicing, covet earnestly this best gift, "great faith."

...If so, seek another God; but if He be infinite, omnipotent, faithful, true, and all-wise, why gaddest thou abroad so much to seek another confidence? ... Let the sandy foundations of terrestrial trust be the choice of fools, but do thou, like one who foresees the storm, build for thyself an abiding place upon the Rock of Ages.

...The major problems today were created because we want to be pampered, do the least we can do to get by, then retire early to live out our squandered life in luxury, and never think about the God who might interfere with our manifest destiny.

...Hum, God – Jesus, that happened about 2000 years ago, if I start there perhaps I can construct a map that will get me back to a more achievable fork in the road, to get the narrow path right this time.”

...Once peace was achieved in Europe after the Thirty Years War, human development advanced rapidly as God was slowly pushed out of the picture and human reason and materialism increasingly became the only way people sought to understand life, the world, and our place in the big scheme of things.

...However true to the Noah typology all those safety ark builders are doing is trying to save themselves, they are planning on taking on those people, things and animals that they think will secure their survival.

...Contrary to what is taught in most churches, while Jesus had the power in his Godhead, in dealing with people he never assumed that power on earth, but rather adopted just the authority he was given by his Father in heaven. George Washington understood that difference and quit after two terms as president because many wanted the easy course of combined or assumed authority and power over human rights and people be vested in just one, a human leader.

...In our self centered world, the differences between competition and aggression blur our vision, so that aggression has somewhat become a social virtue and we have lost the true understanding of competition as a way to achieve excellence.

...An eight hundred times stronger quake with 0.005% of the dead will give the media analysis time for hundreds to thousands of reports for the days, weeks, and months to come, and this time they can read the introductions and break to the experts and pundits to tell us what really happened, again only from the media centers.

The point being, none of this really brings us together in any sense, but rather tends to develop fear in insecure people that something worse can happened to them, and worry is your best or only solace.

...I do not know if zusammen appears in any of Luther’s writings, but in America that concept of we are all in this together seems still lost on Lutherans, hence the concept of Lutherans as “God’s Frozen Chosen.”

...Calvin also seemed to have a sense of humor for creating a pamphlet generally known as the “Inventory of Relics” in which he lists the various church relics that were available in his day, used as fund raisers to help the Roman church finance its role of promoting its temporal eternal nature.

...Therefore it somewhat illogically follows, that Arminians are an anathema of a different sort and totally distinct from Lutherans, even though Lutherans only share completely with Calvinists the Total Depravity Calvinist TULIP plank and redefine or refute totally the other points of Calvinism as they exist in Dort.

So when we bring this Calvinist – Arminian split to England and the United States we find that not only did John Wesley define himself has an Arminian (because he did not adhere to the TULIP’s five points), he really came to his point of view through an overtly strident vein of Lutheran pietism, which formed the basis of much of his personal holiness theology.

...This rooting in history can be seen as why many historic Protestants leave Protestantism because of a continuing emphasis, especially in evangelical, charismatic, Protestantism, to try to achieve a present evolving cultural relevance, absent any historical Christian cultural link, except a desire to restore the vigor of the early church, sans their true commitment.

...In the last year the changes that have rapidly taken place in the United States, as we discussed last week, really isn’t change we want to believe in, simply because it is too stupendous for our change desires to be slow and gradual, in which we control the outcomes.

<itunes:author>Jerry Bannon</itunes:author><itunes:category text="Religion and Spirituality"/><itunes:keywords>Reformation, Martin Luther, John Calvin, TEA party</itunes:keywords><itunes:subtitle>The Wonder Springs Chronicle</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>This week we look at God's rebooting of western culture during the Reformation and how that served as the basis for the world we enjoy today</itunes:summary><itunes:image href="http://www.wondersprings.org/files/podcast_image_560.png" />

Week in Review: February 14-20, 2010

This was evident in the Austin, Texas happening on Thursday where Joe Stack, a disgruntled former software engineer, crashed his small plane into the local IRS building, leaving behind his house he set on fire, and a reported 3000 word manifesto on the Internet.

...Joe may have been angry with the IRS, but he was still wealthy enough to have a house to set on fire, and a small plane he could fly into the building.

...Again both Tiger’s and Bill’s moral compasses, pointed to their own center, for life’s direction, because there was no external reference by which they could find their position in an external real world, and thereby set a course that would not lead to self destruction.

...What was missing in all of this was the fact the there would not have been a President Obama, just a junior Senator Obama from Illinois, if CPAC had not been so arrogantly condescending to the American people in CPAC’s previous marriage to Washington centered, politics, money, and power.

...That means for the rest of us, we still must cope with a future in which our moral compass will be tested also, probably because we to, have for so long coasted along on auto pilot, believing that evolutionary myth; forever onward and upward through random chance, that we hope to manipulate to our own benefit.

Just like Beck, I am slowly beginning to understand that a century of evolutionary progressivism has got us to a point where we must face the fact that this country is rapidly becoming totally dysfunctional.

...For those who might be interested, this is just a bloviated version of philosopher Emmanuel Kant’s categorical imperative, which states essentially, “Act in such a way that what you do shall become a universal law.”

You are like prisoners in a dungeon, and there may be one key in the bunch which would unlock the door, and you might be free; but if you will not look for it, you may remain a prisoner still, though liberty is so near at hand. ... You can recollect the sayings of great men; you treasure up the verses of renowned poets; ought you not to be profound in your knowledge of the words of God, so that you may be able to quote them readily when you would solve a difficulty, or overthrow a doubt?

...The apostle John, in his vision at Patmos, saw a book sealed with seven seals which none was found worthy to open, or so much as to look upon. ... Therefore, if, for your own and others' profiting, you desire to be "filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding," remember that prayer is your best means of study: like Daniel, you shall understand the dream, and the interpretation thereof, when you have sought unto God; and like John you shall see the seven seals of precious truth unloosed, after you have wept much. ... Use the hammer of diligence, and let the knee of prayer be exercised, and there is not a stony doctrine in revelation which is useful for you to understand, which will not fly into shivers under the exercise of prayer and faith. ... Thoughts and reasonings are like the steel wedges which give a hold upon truth; but prayer is the lever, the prise which forces open the iron chest of sacred mystery, that we may get the treasure hidden within.

...Biblical timelines really were not all that important in Christendom until about the time that Bishop Ussher was rediscovered, simply because it really wasn’t all that important because before the enlightenment of Darwinian Evolutionary spin, pretty much everyone believed in a God created universe and frankly there were other much more important things to worry about, like surviving continual stupendous change.

Over church history many Biblical scholars have created young earth historic chronologies, but none fit as well with the Ussher perfection of the Blessed The Rapture, or the Hope of Jesus return at 6000 years, and after the millennial reign of Jesus on earth of a thousand years (Revelation 20) the end of the age after the White Throne Judgment.

...Our modern science really cannot get us to either of these levels of a young earth, but it does show the fundamental truth that if God really wanted us to know how old everything is, instead of numerous series of begat from begat, he could have just stated a date that we could understand and then we could have build all sorts of ingenious ways to use that date, so that we could understand, recreate God in our likeness, rather than the other way around. So the best we can do as wise and thinking Christians is to state thousands rather than millions and billions of years, and look to Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith to keep the earth’s true history secret until the time when that date will only be a means, rather than an end of our desire to overcome any stupendous change at all.

But there still are some of those primitive knuckle-dragging religious people out there that are so stupid and unenlightened that they cannot grasp the intellectual honesty of a faith that shows totally material quantum leaps in informational complexity which can easily take place by undirected random chance over billions of years.

...What is meant by that is if you look at all the tremendous geological phenomena that occur on this planet and were formed over millions and billions of years, it is really a stupid question to ask what happened to the dirt that is no longer there that makes the feature, a feature, and if the feature has been that way for billions of years why hasn’t the sandstone decomposed into sand?

<itunes:author>Jerry Bannon</itunes:author><itunes:category text="Religion and Spirituality"/><itunes:keywords>stupendous change, 500 year reboot, Genesis, God, Jesus</itunes:keywords><itunes:subtitle>The Wonder Springs Chroncile</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>From the time of the Biblical personality of Abraham, God, about ever 500 years reboots human society. ...Now when we talk about green vitriol we are not talking about crystalline ferrous sulfate, but rather a vitriolic discussion about green energy and how it is going to save us from global warming and at the same time allow us to continue our gluttonous energetic lifestyle.

...The problem is the current price of oil is just below those figures, and has traded in that $70 — $80 range for about a year now since the Saudis stated that the world price of oil should be at least $70. Of course there is no market making manipulation there, just a simple commodity trading program, access to a whole lot of free money from saving the world from financial collapse, and someone with an Internet connection writing oil industry press releases such as:

...Then we could produce a market for all that green technology, except we really could not make enough solar panels and windmills to make a dent in our need for fossil fuel energy, and what would all that green energy do to the local environments, with windmills killing birds and solar panels covering hundreds to thousands of square miles? Then of course if we really want to be green, we must look at the total carbon footprint for those windmills and solar panels, including their design, manufacture, installation, maintenance, and distribution system.

...Of course without grid ties the land we sacrifice of green energy could be used for something else, but then our cities would grow dark, unless we build some other type of really green centralized power plants, with a much better spin on the technology that is now viewed with vitriol.

Morning & Evening for February 14th - Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Jehoiachin was not sent away from the king's palace with a store to last him for months, but his provision was given him as a daily pension. ... ...While Germany’s problems were related to reparations required under terms of the War’s armistice for payment in gold, Hitler himself attributed much of that period’s instability to the success of his ability to bring National Socialism to Germany, which began in 1925 through 1933 when Nazi power was finally established.

...Ben Bernanke has been put in charge of the Federal Reserve for another four years because he saved the universe from another Great Depression, when he was Alan Greenspan’s easy money debt lieutenant as this totally unforeseen economic catastrophe developed?

...What makes this so serious is that the economic recovery during the 1920s and thwarted during the 1930s Great Depression, was essentially get out of the way and let the market system work, while a broad spectrum of economic opportunities became reality.

...The first step in economic rebooting the United States, and the world for that matter, is the realization that debt doesn’t create wealth, all it can do is shuffle or reshuffle the deck chairs on the global economic Titanic now that it has hit an iceberg. There are some life rafts that can get some to shore, and thereby use the knowledge we have gained to build some newly designed economic ships, but the major problem is the great flood of the ocean of non energetic debt money that has covered all the dry land.

...The moral to the story is that as much as we think we control the world, and have a plan to save the world, new opportunities of growth will come from reclaimed liquidity water that will irrigate a dry land, not from human wishful thinking.

Brute' says humans should learn from Greece.

(null)

New Leadership Tab

In our effort to create more effective resources here at Wonder Springs, we have deleted the Phylogenesis Tab and replaced it with an off site link under a new Leadership Tab. ...God knows, even we Yanks can’t speak the Queen’s English, and English itself is so imprecise that just about anyone can make up a word and in our world, in a brief instance everyone around the world will know what we are talking about.

...The really great thing about a uniform evolutionary history of millions and billions of years is it takes away our accountability and our responsibility for anything and everything that happens today, that most good people consider bad, for we know that evil really doesn’t exist, so we will call it by some more politically correct term or terms.

...What is lost in all human babel is that our words do not create anything at all they only reflect the reality of God’s creation, and if God did or doesn’t create that reality our words, are just words no matter the language we use, within the diversity of human language, but also within each language.

...Through this whole language babel we learned not to trust one another, not because we humans really had changed at all, it was just that we always fear, not so much reality, but we have trouble expressing our fear in words, which is the basis for all of our world’s tribes and nations.

Now so the myth of a created universal history of thousands rather than millions and billions of years is presented in the Bible, a garden, a universal flood, and civilization growing again to a Tower of Babel forcing humans to migrate around the world, must make that babbling experiment not all that long ago and as a consequence something real in this world in which we live.

...Some thought it was acceptable to treat other humans as slaves, that struggle took on Civil War ramifications, but through it all the grace of God prevailed, and the United States of America became the most truly successful nation in human history, not because of anything other than the grace of God.

What no one seems to understand is that the ‘90s were funded basically by the housing bubble, monetarily securitizing that debt, and selling it to the rest of the world.

...What the world really needs is money in the old fashioned sense, like a medium of exchange for goods and services, not a Ponzi Scheme of central bankers, politicians, and various leveraged market makers. ... When thou art favoured to draw very near to His throne, and the King saith to thee, "Ask, and I will give thee what thou wilt," let thy petitions be, not for thyself alone, but for the many who need His aid. ...There are those who today say they don’t believe this myth, but they replace it with another newer myth, which states there is no god, nothing beyond the natural, and everything can be explained by human understanding alone.

...This of course denies at least the truth of the world in which we now live, that it is man who is the weaker vessel and hence he was such an easy mark that the devil never thought that causing Adam to sin was a challenge at all, and that the future of “The Fall of Man” necessarily came through the woman.

...In our global warming myth we see that sin is really no big deal, just some falling short of our own standards that we can correct if we all work together for the common good, thereby showing God that we are capable by ourselves to save the world and all the creatures, alone by our enlightened good works.

...The whole Bible is about a specific contextual written revelation of Jesus, the son of God, born in human flesh, lived a sinless life, was crucified and died as a propitiatory sacrifice for the sins of mankind on a cross, was buried and then was resurrected on the third day, and ascended into heaven, where he will return in power at the end of this age.

...Now all humans without a specific revelation of the Christian justification of Jesus Christ, as a propitiatory sacrifice to stand in lieu of God’s righteous judgment, believe the myth that we are basically good, and that all that is required for us to succeed in this world is to not do anything really bad, try somewhat to do good things, and we will be rewarded not only in this life, but in any life to come.

...But God came in the cool of the evening and made garments of skin to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve, the evidence that the covenant of God’s grace through Jesus Christ alone is not a myth for those who through faith can now believe.

<itunes:author>Jerry Bannon</itunes:author><itunes:category text="Religion and Spirituality"/><itunes:keywords>myth, God, Satan, justification</itunes:keywords><itunes:subtitle>The Wonder Springs Chronicle</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>This week we look at the myth of the Genesis account of the fall of man in the light of other myths that seem to drive our culture</itunes:summary><itunes:image href="http://www.wondersprings.org/files/podcast_image_546.png" />

Current national leadership is out of touch

On the progressive Democrat side, they imply that the only way forward is through more government spending as the only way we can again obtain prosperity.

...To assume, by either plan, and a whole lot of positive thinking we will find our way out of the deep woods has no basis in real reality.

Both parties recent political histories of either tax and spend or tax breaks and spend are based on a dumbed down views of not only human enterprise but also human culture. The basis in both of these paradigms is that we are smart enough to manage everything, generally under the faith in the premise that we specifically are promoting alone, and really not much else.

...This grade pretty much speaks for itself, but the report really focuses on the disease ramifications themselves and has little to say about the effects such an attack would have on national and international economics.

...This centralization of everything simply means that whatever happens is going to have a greater impact than with a more diverse population density, and with this concentration comes an infrastructure which really can’t help itself out of the mess, whether that be truly natural (as the Haiti earthquake), bioterrorism, or nuclear.

...Our point of view is not so much related to future developments such as the coming mid-elections, but whether by his very specific specialization does the President actually have the skill set to govern, especially in a moderately conservative country?

...Unless some dramatic changes take place soon, the 2010 elections will change the current liberal agenda, whether Obama likes it or not, and after that a course correction on his part with become pretty much meaningless.

...Speculation before the State of the Union Address centered in the quandary of whether President Obama would stay on the liberal or progressive course of his first year as President or would he shift his emphasis towards the political center like Bill Clinton did in his first term.

...Maybe we could buy another device with some Federal stimulus money and it could be mounted on the camera, or even on the back wall of the speaking venue, and then he could make his speech like a normal celebrity.

...This response seems totally out of touch with the reality, which is probably, if he does a really mediocre job in his first term, chances are still pretty good that he will be reelected.

...After his State of the Union Address, what we reported first in last Monday’s Week in Review, now seems to be more than plausible: The question as the Obama presidency moves forward, is not, does he have the intelligence to change to a direction the American people can believe in, rather does he have the skill set to change.

...This week we continue along those lines looking at how sin entered the perfection of God’s creation and what that means to us today, a day and age when we think we have evolved to such a point that evil and sin no longer exist.

...Furthermore when you look at human history, especially its violence and a sacrificial system of appeasement to nature’s supernatural gods, many times including human sacrifice, you see evil depravity at the opposite extreme of the continuum of good and evil, where our definition of good is some warm fuzzy feeling of my desire to withdraw from the reality of actual life.

...As a true revivalist evangelist Roy’s arguments centered on the belief that for people to become Christians they needed to acknowledge that they were sinners and then understand and make the commitment to the truth that Jesus Christ was the answer to getting their sins washed away and restoring them to a personal relationship with God.

...This is especially true when the whole paradigm of the culture says that the whole God thing itself, is a primitive evolutionary trait that the knowledgeable scientific elite have rejected, because after all they are our culture’s true religious leaders, not like Biblical Pharisees, but rather Sadducees that didn’t believe in the resurrection of the dead.

...The antithesis of that argument is also true, those rejecting those Godly pursuits would do it with a vigor that would do everything earthly possible to find eternity in other places, such as human sacrifice, worshiping creation, and amassing material stuff, for just the purpose of we can, because the alternative of a real God is truly an undesirable worldview to those who want to run the show themselves.

...In the context of the Brown election, the speculation now centers around whether the President will move more to the center for governing, like Bill Clinton did, or will he continue the Progressive changes he tried to implement in the first year and now are looking pretty much as almost a total failure. As it appears today, betting of the pundits and commentators seems just about equally split, with perhaps a more vocal side saying he will go down staying his course, stating that the people still believe in the change they ask him to accomplish in the country, but they just don’t understand his specifics, requiring more education (speeches etc.) and not so much program changes.

...So this week and beyond, the Democrat Party majority will spend much time and spin trying to determine if they can accomplish anything other than trying to hold on to a majority in both the House and the Senate in the fall elections. ... They will try to push some type of government sponsored New Deal type of Keynesian stimulus to create jobs, but that rings hollow because any jobs legislation historically has related to special interests bailouts and altering that reality is not on either the Democrat or Republican agendas for other than lip service for the near future.

...However the real problem didn’t begin with Bernanke but stems back to Alan Greenspan, who took control of the Fed under Ronald Reagan and succeeded in moving the United States to continuing prosperity, by shifting the debt burden from government into the consumer markets, especially housing, and then shipping those securities offshore as sound investments in the United States, which anyone who was willing to do due diligence would find fallacious.

Then lest we forget the weather in California has been so bad recently that it would be most of the 24 hour news cycle other than the fact that it has been lost in the stupendous change of all this week’s other momentous events.

...Somehow along this random course of events, the amino acids combined into just the right sequences to form proteins, these proteins found random order to form DNA, and given enough time, it all came together in such a way that a shepherd boy, near the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea composed this poetry of Psalm 8, focusing on a God and his creation, all of which are based on just primitive religious superstitions and myths.

Now thank our lucky stars, we humans have evolved to the point that we can save the planet, from ourselves, because our evolving intelligence has become so wisely integrated with all of nature that we can do a much better job than these random events, even though we really have no knowledge of the nature we plan to control, and really no desire to even learn.

...Much ink has been spent in creationist Christianity, of which I have a developing responsibility, defending the Biblical creation account of seven literal twenty-four hour days of creation, even though the account of creation itself doesn’t create our measurement of time paradigm until the fourth day, and even when it does that it does not create a linear account, but a circular one.

...We already think in three dimensions, we don’t know how it works, but if, for instance, we want to recall something about our historic relatives, our mind goes through three dimensional pathways in our brains, by really complex chemical reactions, to retrieve that data and then form somewhat a visual image of our relationship with them in their time and place.

...So in that respect the seven days of the creation, as outlined in Genesis One, are really a metaphor, not of compressed eons of time, but rather an account which best fits the limited human faculties of the created humanity, essentially twenty- four hours days flowing from a planar annular pattern of hours, days, and years.

...Nice an tidy, but sixteen years ago some began wondering if this date setting is not all that much different than others who have set the day for Christ’s return, especially when the above references from Matthew 24 and Mark 13, state that only the Father knows the time of Christ’s return.

...Right now in Haiti and in all our other catastrophic recovery efforts, we focus upon immediate material aid, and once the crisis is over, survivors are pretty much on their own to answer the stupendous challenge of “Why Me?”

...Religion in common and specific senses, typified by the fundamentals of Judeo-Christian values, are the only support that will remain, but those efforts will be greatly hindered by the lack of capital to rebuild and restore human lives. ... That is simply because the American ethos, really hasn’t changed, as it also has been pillaged by the global reach of what is beginning to be feely called “crony capitalism.”

...Let those words not neglect Jefferson’s vision of a nation of self-sufficiency in the form of yeoman farmers, freeholders, not of a mortgaged suburban home, but owners and stewards of their natural subsistence.

...In that comparison, the currently struggling people of Haiti, have been given an opportunity to rebuild, a more just and sustainable society than they have had in their history.

It is the joy of thy heart to hold daily fellowship with Jesus; thou shalt have the same joy to a higher degree in heaven; thou shalt enjoy the constant vision of His presence; thou shalt dwell with Him for ever. ... Why, that Lamb is heaven itself; for as good Rutherford says, "Heaven and Christ are the same thing;" to be with Christ is to be in heaven, and to be in heaven is to be with Christ. That prisoner of the Lord very sweetly writes in one of his glowing letters--"O my Lord Jesus Christ, if I could be in heaven without thee, it would be a hell; and if I could be in hell, and have thee still, it would be a heaven to me, for thou art all the heaven I want."

...Both at home and abroad we are liable to meet with allurements to evil; the morning opens with peril, and the shades of evening find us still in jeopardy.

...David should have been engaged in fighting the Lord's battles, instead of which he tarried at Jerusalem, and gave himself up to luxurious repose, for he arose from his bed at eventide. ... When I see the King of Israel sluggishly leaving his couch at the close of the day, and falling at once into temptation, let me take warning, and set holy watchfulness to guard the door.

...With the inherit weakness of twentieth and twenty-first century American education it is too much to ask you to search for historic figures to blame for our failures, simply because you learned very little history in your formal educational processes and what little you did learn was spun in the spirit of academic revisionism.

...To this day my theology basically remains Lutheran, but when we moved to Kettle Falls for high school and during my college days, I began to have problems with what I learned later to be the disease of Protestant Liberalism that infected and devastated all mainline American denominations during that period and continues to this day.

...Through that Pentecostal connection I eventually spent a number of years at an Assembly of God church, under a mature second generation Pentecostal pastor who had seen it all and ran a very tight congregation where the gifts of the spirit were understood and practiced, but never allowed to be abused.

...Like that second generation Pentecostal mentoring pastor, over the last quarter century of the pilgrimage through the American church, I have seen some good, some bad, a very little absolutely ugly, and a whole lot of what I used to call mediocrity.

...We are now told that all this is our current attempt to be relevant to a lost and dying world, but this irreverent reality is really as old as the church itself, in that it attempts to replace the covenant of God’s grace with the Law of Sinai.

...novel – novel now moves forward to hopefully show through imagination and flexibility, why this time and all its profound messes, can really become the basis for Reformation and Refounding of values that transcend this disorder and again shall bring dignity to humanity as individuals created in God’s image, again seeking and finding a unity in our personal and community diversity.

...So that we again will truly understand God centered humility 1 Peter 4:17 states: For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

...Not too long ago I remembered, the first real book I bought in my life, not counting comic books, was the “Air Force Survival Manual” and I continue to find that topic amazing, not so much in the physical requirement for survival, but the mental and spiritual context that is unique to each successful survivor.

Long ago in my one visit to New York City, I got into a deep discussion with the older couple I was staying with on what they would do if something happened so that the small neighborhood grocery they visited daily, could no longer provide the bread, milk and other provisions they needed to survive.

...Listening to commentators discussing the poor handling of the Christmas Day affair by the Obama Administration, and how it seems to be so out of touch with the will of the American people, can be best described as the out of comfort zone, Holocaust denial of the real Nazi threat, to the European Jewish people as well as to non-Arian people groups.

...This is meshed into the four human questions we asked at the beginning and will eventually change not only our individuality but also produce the energy required as we begin to reform synergistic communities in which the collective good can flourish.

...Because God has known you from the real beginning, and in this time he has created and is creating opportunities for you to understand reality in such a way that is uniquely and complexly diverse in all of human history.

...During the years following the development of the Business Ecology concept, through some more technical consulting work I was given the rights to redevelop a Great Depression successful, air concentrating technology for precious metals.

...I scraped together enough funds to reestablish the company as PREFER Ltd in the State of Washington and began to assemble infrastructure pieces that had not been utilized for probably twenty years.

...Combining the precious metals with Business Ecology and placing it within a human environment in which our money has no basis in reality, it logically follows that we should again look to God’s creation for the knowledge and wisdom to again provide a mechanism to produce new wealth not only from the ground, but also to help others manage their current wealth in a means that will minimize the effects of higher taxes, currency devaluations, and inflation.

So on New Year’s Eve we began a new website called Deep Woods Moola which will function as a subsidiary adventure of PREFER Ltd. ... As yet there is nothing there beyond a domain name, but over time the goal is to separate The Wonder Springs Chronicle to enhance its Christian emphasis and develop Deep Woods Moola into a mechanism to address in a secular manner the challenges that now face all of humanity.

...For only by understanding that we humans are not just part of creation, as creatures, but set apart in the image of God, to inherit his special goodness, can we truly understand the potential for Wonder Springs in not just a physical Death Valley, but more importantly our eternally spiritual Death Valley, without the grace of God offered to us through Jesus Christ.

Humpty Dumpty didn’t fall off the financial wall – yet, but Humpty does seem to look sort of like a handsome bald headed guy with a beard (Ben Bernacke), and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men look strangely like Goldman Sachs investment bankers; just like good old Humpty himself. ... There are still some questions yet to be answered, mostly around the fact that the wall, in its present condition, is completely unsustainable and would we be much better off in the long run, to build a new wall and let the old one crumble into history?

...Of course the evolved elite really wants nothing to do with real nature and reality, because that wildness is really a scary place that doesn’t accept their elitist credentials and treats them as not superior to other animals and even lowly plants.

...Therefore in the New Year The Wonder Springs Chronicle will renew or reemphasize the uniquely Christian perspective of God’s grace offered to men and women, and how those humans can become better leaders by serving God, not only through church but also in the civil or secular arena.

...We will again learn that God is real, and that reality will come in such a way that we will confess that this whole new unity in diversity is way too complex for human knowledge and wisdom to accomplish within our confining sinful depravity.

As we continue to understand the realness to trust God for our provisions, those life or death situations no longer just begin, but become part of a much broader narrative in which we understand the faithfulness of God, not only as he provides for our needs, but also adds to that an abundance of blessings and gifts that mean more to us than we can at this time fully understand or articulate.

...Kathy’s Christmas CD was what I bought with the money left after the player purchase and I listened to it over and over as I still do, but now it has a reserved “Good News, Kathy” playlist on iTunes in my Christmas music folder and on my iPod.

“Good News” is definitely not a music collection about Santa Claus coming to town, so let’s go to the mall and buy some stuff, so we can give things to others that they probably don’t want, and if they needed it they would have purchased for themselves.

...I also bowled with three temple Mormons when I was in the Army, our team name was the Holy Rollers, Later, as I was working entrepreneurial and small business consulting, many of my contacts and networking associates were either Mormons themselves or were in someway linked to those, who had members or LDS church resources at their disposal.

...All we have to do is to believe, and yet the more we learn about that gift we begin to see that faith to believe, is really the world’s most valuable gift, not just for Christmas, but for every day of our lives.

So, you see this now has a very meaningful story line that when I started I didn’t have a clue how I even wanted to put it together, before I knew that because of a, hum – I guess the words of the song express it better than I ever could.

...Dumpty you are on your own kid, you are just a coward, a real American is self-sufficient and “don’t need no help from no one.” (sic) Notice the triple negative, which seems to imply that resources will not be forthcoming, no matter how Humpty Dumpty asks for help.

So let us dissect old Humpty Dumpty in early twenty-first century terms and see if all the parts are sufficient to give us a real rhyme that may be applicable to those who have been, are now experiencing, or will soon be living a Humpty Dumpty life.

...Furthermore it must have not been some so called act of God, because if this were the case, then there would have been some sort of Humpty bargain with God to plead for his salvation.

...I had been invited to a Christmas party, which was to be also sort of a reunion for a church singles group I had been a member, after I had returned to church as a regular attendee and as my life was slowly coming back together after some very difficult times. Not that many years before this party, this group had been held up as pretty much the best singles group in that particular regional section of the church denomination, because we did things together pretty much as brother and sisters in Christ rather than some sort of Christian dating service.

...Part of the emphasis on attending this Christmas party was that one of the former members who had moved a great distance away was making a special effort to attend, even though we all knew it was a hardship to return to Seattle for just and evening.

...As we talked about her return we all thought that was cool, but a trip to share a meal, sing some carols, everyone wearing sweaters, in a room full of candles, conversing with old friends, was a nice idea, but the whole life changing experience thing seem just a wee bit over the top.

...Then when they knocked again I finally decided to answer the door, after all my mind was pretty much made up and so a little delay really wouldn’t make any difference, so I put my gun back in the drawer and went to the door.

...But then again I currently don’t have to worry about my world imploding financially upon itself, for that happened long ago, and I am still alive, well, and feel better physically than I had before I had my heart operation in 2003, but that is another God story, that is chronicled here at Wonder Springs.

...The opportunity that we can gain from these life trials is that “faith, hope and love,” are unique assets of all our human personalities. They are gifts of God, given to us in unique ways, we are however much of the time to busy understand not only their unique nature, but also our own.

Their have been those, in relatively recent human history, who have tried to change these gifts of God into a force that can be manipulated by human efforts.

...Making you healthy, wealthy, and wise through your faith, was and still is part of the reason Christianity continues to be considered ridiculous, by many people, some who have tried the to plant their seed of faith and found it bought someone a new house and corporate jet, while their faith had to make the choice between food, and utilities, while old time necessities came to look like totally vanquished dreams.

...Therefore during the rest of this year the Wonder Springs Chronicle will focus upon how God uses our difficult circumstances to reveal His nature in our lives and how Godly faith, hope, and love, are able to sometimes overcome our circumstances, but also provide are deepest needs when we have forced to take steps beyond our understanding

...Let those of us who truly believe in that miracle take the time to share historical reasons for our faith, hope and love and the material gifts will take care of themselves.

...In this guerilla war, Obama’s progressive base only hold portions of the right and left coasts and Chicago politics, and the great American fly-over is becoming increasingly agitated with what it sees as not just liberal, leftist, or socialist, but communist underpinnings of his social wealth redistribution plans.

...Cleaning up the language of the Full Bird Colonel, who as a Lieutenant traveled across Europe in a WWII boxcar, and required all his junior officers to read not only the weekly Warsaw Pact Intelligence Summary, but also the same summary originating from Viet Nam, “It’s a lousy little war, but it is the only one we have.”

...What all this means is during the Viet Nam era, we ROTC and OCS reluctant volunteers, in a few short years, learned more about ourselves, other people, leadership, reality, how the world really operates, than we could have learned in a lifetime of doing whatever, wherever.

Putting this in the context of where we are right now, wars are far too great a challenge to be fought by professional soldiers alone, and citizen soldiers, or at least civilians trained in the principles of military leadership are way to important to civil society to leave the running of civil society in the hands of politicians, bureaucrats, and special interest oligarchs.

...As far as debt, they don’t believe in debt, at least as a problem, because if it were not for debt then they would have to share the wealth, if what is left can even be define as wealth.

...However the changes of those who support Traditional Historic American Values see what’s happening relates to the reality that the swamp is gone, replaced by the parking lot, and the trees are gone also.

...So in the context of our traditional values series of articles thus far, natural law is being ignored by a human centered religion that seems to think that they are smart enough to control not only the human ecosystems, as in healthcare, but also natural ecosystems, through cap and trade carbon taxes.

...Since the current dinosaurs, as well as the world’s monetary policy are all determined through human economic and political enlightenment, that growth can continue until they consume the entirety of the world’s monetary wealth with catastrophic results.

...We will have lost our freedom because liberty has also been consumed in the process of the monetary gluttony, for to continue to create money at the expense of everything else, does and will continue to create non-sustainable debt.

So because, we the people, are seemingly having no input into any of these happenings we need to continue to act as the United States still honors your liberty to pursue your individual freedom to create your own self reliance.

...So today true charity does not exist, for we all know that the government will take care of all the problems and hence we no longer have a guilty conscience because we used this progressive freedom to pamper our own idolatry with basically consumer kitsch and hence feed the economic dinosaurs with our credit card debt.
