Trout Lake about five road miles north of SR 20 (Sherman Pass Scenic Byway) in the Kettle River Range. From here a 4.7 mile trail connects with Deadman Creek through Hoodoo Canyon via Emerald Lake.

The Swanson Lake - Telford Loop Sablands Tour
An approximate 180 degree photo merge across the main Telford flood channel viewed from the East towards the western horizon miles in the distance. Swanson Lake, in another similar flood channel is about 7 miles to the West. There is no significant intervening non flooded steppe ground.
